According to a new white paper, more than 25 billion apps will have been downloaded from mobile app stores by 2015.
Prepared by wireless analyst firm Juniper Research, the white paper predicts that downloads from mobile app stores will increase almost tenfold over the next five years, growing from less than 2.6 billion apps in 2009 to over 25 billion apps in 2015.
The white paper also reveals that Apple's iPhone App Store accounted for more than a third of all mobile app downloads in 2009, even though less than one per cent of mobile phones in use last year were Apple iPhones.
