Older users are joining social networking sites in ever growing numbers, a new study has found.
According to research conducted by The Pew Internet and American Life project, the percentage of 50 to 64 year olds who use social media grew from 16% to 47% between November 2008 and May 2010, while the percentage of over 65 year olds who use sites such as Twitter and Facebook grew from 4% to 26%.
