10 billion apps have now been downloaded from Apple's App Store since its launch in 2008. To mark the milestone, one iPhones user received a $10,000 iTunes gift card when the 10 billionth app was downloaded.
Compared to the iTunes store, which took seven years to hit 10 billion downloads, it has taken Apple’s app store just over two years to reach the 10 billion mark and there are now more than 300,000 apps available on the store.
