After a record-breaking start to the year, in which £10 billion was spent online in January and February alone, Britain’s retailers are expecting online sales to remain high for the rest of 2011, a survey has found.
According to the IMRG Online Confidence Survey, 71% of UK retailers are confident that online sales will stay high for the remainder of 2011 and will potentially even improve.
Nearly half of the retailers surveyed additionally said they were confident of achieving business growth through mobile-commerce and social media channels.
