According to a report released by the International Data Corporation (IDC), in just four years time mobile web surfing will overtake desktop Internet use in the United States.
The IDC report forecasts that, as mobile web devices grow in popularity, mobile Internet users in the U.S. will grow by an annual compound rate of 16.6% and will surpass PC and other wireline Internet users in 2015.
The report also predicts that the total number of worldwide Internet users will grow from 2 billion in 2010 to 2.7 billion in 2015 and global B2C eCommerce spending will grow from $708 billion in 2010 to $1,285 billion in 2015.
