According to the latest eCommerce statistics online sales are rising again in the UK.
Largely as a result of poor sales in the travel sector, online sales hit an 18-month low in July. However, the latest figures released by IMRG and Capgemini show that £5.2 billion was spent online in the UK in August, which represents a year-on-year growth of 14%.
Sales in the clothing and home and garden sectors were particularly strong in August. The clothing sector enjoyed a year-on-year growth of 22% while the home and garden sector enjoyed a year-on-year jump of 40%.
