Four million iPhones sold in three days

Apple sold four million iPhone 4S handsets in just three days following the launch of its new smartphone.

As discussed in a blog last week, customers queued up outside Apple stores to be amongst the first to own an iPhone 4S and, when the refreshed version of the iPhone officially went on sale, over four million people purchased one of the new handsets.

Apple have also reported strong sales of their other popular iOS devices. The company sold 11.12 million iPads in the last sales quarter and 6.62 million iPods.
