Chrome catching Firefox

According to the latest web statistics Google Chrome is closing in on Mozilla Firefox’s position as the most popular desktop browser.

Chrome’s share of the browser market has risen from 23.8% at the start of the year to 30.5% in September. In the same time period, Firefox’s share has dropped from 42.8% to 39.7%.

Meanwhile, Internet Explorer, which was once the clear market leader, now only has 22.9% of the market.
