95% of EU citizens have broadband

According to the European Commission, 95% of citizens in European Union countries now have broadband access.

At a recent conference in London, Frank Mather, the European Commission’s director general for the information society, announced  that the Commission aims to have achieved universal broadband coverage by 2013.

Mr Mather also stated that, by 2020, the Commission wants all EU citizens to have access to 30Mbit/s services, and at least half of all EU citizens to have access to 100Mbit/s services.

To achieve this goal, the Commission plans to supplement private sector spending by releasing €9.2 billion in funding.

As more and more citizens around the world obtain access to high-speed broadband, we can help you reach new customers by raising the digital profile of your organisation.
