According to the founder of Facebook, email as a means of communication is about to become obsolete.
Announcing the launch of Facebook’s new messaging platform, Mark Zuckerberg professed that he didn’t think the modern messaging system was going to be email.
In a recent article on the BBC website, Lee Bryant, the co-founder of a social business consultancy, expressed a similar belief that email may soon cease to be the main medium for business communications.
Mr Bryant believes that employees will increasingly communicate and collaborate using internal and consumer facing social tools such as wikis, micro-blogs and internal social networks.
