According to a recently-released report, nearly one in every five minutes spent online is spent on a social networking site: making social networking the most popular online activity worldwide.
Entitled It’s a Social World: Top 10 Need-to-Knows About Social Networking and Where It’s Headed, the report was prepared by the Internet metrics firm comScore.
comScore found that in October last year, 1.2 billion web users around the world visited social networking sites, which represents 82% of the world’s population. Twitter alone reached one in ten worldwide Internet users.
